examples of empowerment coaching

For those of you who are still wondering if Empowerment Coaching is for you I have given a selection of examples. These are but a few, there are many, many more – contact Jepeca to discuss your needs / requirements.

Confidence
***** had a presentation for work and was worried that she would forget to mention the important points, freeze with fear, come across as incompetent and leave her audience with an impression that is not a true reflection of her abilities whilst also not relaying the important message of the presentation.
I worked with ***** on her confidence issues, using time line therapy. We also used a technique which helped her to focus on her presentation skills and ability to relay the necessary information easily and comfortably. Relaxation and projection of her ability in a manner which she felt comfortable with were also incorporated into our sessions.
The number of sessions with ***** included the initial assessment, a four hour intensive plus two follow up sessions.
She has since been promoted and presentations are no longer an issue – in fact she now says they are one of her strong points.
She has used the techniques in other areas of her life with much success. She has an empowerment coaching session every 6 to 12 months now to ensure she is in line with her goals.

Team Building / Management Skills
Working with people can get frustrating at times. With low morale, perceived bullying, very little team spirit, isolation and high sickness, as a manager ***** had his work cut out.
I worked with the team – team building workshop - focusing on the issues presented.
I also worked with the manager on building and sustaining a positive, working productive team.
We worked on team building, and taking responsibility for actions and communications.
Initially there were three team building workshops.
In addition, there were eight One-2-Ones with the manager and a few individuals from the workshops.
The team have regular coaching to sustain the working relationship they have all worked to achieve.

Sport
***** has an important match at a future date and has put the effort in but is not sure that is enough. Several times during our session I heard them saying that their opponent was better, fitter, and would win.
I worked with ***** on their perception of their opponent, and gave them some tools that they could use when thinking, talking or planning their forthcoming match.
The number of sessions was one.
***** won their match and informed me that they have gone on to win all of their matches to date.

Interview
I worked with ***** for his forthcoming interview for a job he really wanted.
I used techniques to help him to focus on his positive attributes whilst building his confidence in his ability to perform a good interview.
The number of sessions was three.
***** got the job and is enjoying his new career.

Saying No
***** believed that she would only be liked if she pleased everybody. This resulted in her spending more time and energy with other people’s children and problems than her own and had started causing trouble at home with her partner. On exploring her initial issue it was evident that other issues were surfacing and ***** wished to resolve.
Using time line therapy, instilling positive beliefs, focusing on her priorities and changing the way she thought and felt about herself and how she wanted to spend her precious time ***** progressed at a pace she felt comfortable with.
The number of sessions was twelve.
***** is very content today, and has occasional coaching to keep her focused.

Dilemma
**** was unsure what to do or which way to turn. She felt like she was at a crossroads and was not sure which way was the right way for her. Whatever she did would impact on her whole life and her children’s.
I used specific technique to directly work on what ***** options and choices were. Helped her to focus on her outcome and work towards it, without distractions.
The number of sessions was five.
***** has made her decision and is loving her new life.

Starting a business
***** had an idea about a business but did not know how to follow through on it.
We worked on focusing, successful planning and implementing, and achieving ***** outcome.
The number of sessions was eight.
***** is running a very successful business.
Uses coaching yearly to stay focused, with occasional session for specific issues.

Depression
***** had visited a counsellor in the past but was still haunted by some of her experiences.
We worked on her outcome, time line therapy, confidence building and self belief.
The number of sessions was sixteen.
***** is enjoying life today
***** uses empowerment coaching occasionally now for issues in the present that she knows she will resolve with the powerful techniques and tools.

Teenagers
Examples of the issues I have worked with are self harming, eating issues, confidence, bullying, lack of self belief, fears, no direction, uncontrollable, violent, depressed, bad past experience, and non attendance at school. Feeling isolated, unloved, misunderstood, no-one cares, moody etc
The number of sessions depends on the individual and the openness and willingness to change. Teenagers are very focused but occasionally it gets misplaced. With gentle, encouraging empowerment coaching teenagers are given choices and options they may not know they had.
